Detachment Renaming Evolution - We are still soliciting names to Replace Georgia Black Sheep Detachment.

Why:  The Founders of our Detachment have started a new group and are using the name they brought to Detachmnet #952.   We will change our name to avoid confusion of the two separate and distinct units.

Detachment, Iwo Jima T-Shirts are in, contact Lori to Order or visit the Ship's Store

We have a SHIP'S STORE please visit and provide feed back!

We had our elections in February - Jeff, Tony and Lori returned for a second year in their respective billets.  Our new Judge Advocate is Gary MacKinnon.

Need positions filled, Historian, Sergeant at Arms, and Paymaster.

The 10 November birthday night at the Crossroads Grille was very sucessful, thanks to TR,  Gary, Mike, and Brenda.   Well, thanks to everyone.

July 2-5 - Detachment float went to Washington DC for the National Parade.  Bill, Kathy, Jeff and Lori were the detachment representatives, and were joined by a retired Gunny friend of  the Hartings, his son a Sergeant, a friend of the sergeant, and a retired 1stSgt that served with Jeff.

The entire weekend was a great adventure, we visited the Marine Museum and found an actual Iwo Jima Veteran who gives tours at the Museum and plays the piano at the Globe and Laurel resturant.   We spent two evenings at the Micky Finn MCL detachment bar, and a few of us visited 8th and I, and were allowed on the parade field to the rear of the Commandants House.

The Parade in and of itself was truely Awesome!  Ask me about it at the meeting.
