The Georgia Black Sheep Detachment is a Congressionally Chartered non-profit veteran organization listed as an IRS 501 (C) 4 which allows for tax-deductible donations.  We are listed as a Georgia Corporation (#0339436) and the IRS Employer Identification Number (#58-2626950).

We join together in Camaraderie and preserve the histories & traditions of the United States Marine Corps.  We actively support the Active & Reserve Marines in our areas.  We strive to weld strong relations between the community and our group with many programs that combine both of us to work together.

The Marine Corps League is nationally headquartered in Washington, DC area and is Congressionally Chartered in 1937.  There are over 60,000 members dedicated to Marine & Veteran Issues.  We work annually with the active & reserve Marines to help at Christmas with the Toys for Tots Drive.  There is a Detachment in every state and some overseas.

We have a Iwo Jima Re-enactment Float for Parades throughout Northeast Georgia.  Call our Junior Vice Commandant, Tony Tijerina at 770-335-7930 for details and to set-up a Parade in our area.

Wounded Warriors and POW/MIA Campaigns are handled by our Commandant Commandant, Jeff Covert.  Jeff can be reached at 678-429-0661 for donations, fund-raising and program information.

Our Detachment Color/Honor Guard is headed up by our Jr Vice Commandant Lori Dashiell.  For more information on our Color/Honor Guard, please call Lori at 678-372-6045.
