School is out for summer and June found a lot of folks busy doing other things, which is great, we missed alot of friends at the June meeting, and that is fine. Sometimes it is good to be sew and sometimes it is good to be missed. I am thankful for those who made it out to the lake.
Okay, time for the DC Parade event! Everything is right were we need it, the float is in some sort of transition, and Bill seems to think it will be put together before we leave for Washington, we are two bodies short for manning the float and we could use some more money. If everything was joto squared we away, we would not know what to do with ourselves. Marines will win everytime. Do not let your hearts be troubled, I have all the confidence things will be just fine.
Tony has forwarded the sponsorhip letter for our float, if there are businesses that may be available or in a position to provide a few funds, please invite them to do so, please do not do anything that you may not be comfortable doing. If you did not get the sponsorship letter, email Tony Tijerina.
We need ideas, for a few major events that will either raise community awareness, raise membership, raise funds or a combination of all at once. Any ideas are welcome, but be fore-warned, I will ask you take ownership and lead the way on the activity you suggest.
I am looking for lookers! We need someone who is looking to make a difference, a person who is willing to give time, money and leadership.
