Our May meeting was brief, and was followed by a nice cook thanks to Ginny Covert, Tony and Nancy Tijerina and Lori and her mom... thanks for a really good cook out.

Having a function at Lake Lanier, on Fathers Day, was a bit tough.  The meeting was fewer in numbers but the quality of folks was first rate.  There was at least four dad's there with their children,  AWESOME.  

The American Legion continues to prove to be a good friend to our Detachment. 

Our prayers - Several Marines were mentioned Sunday, please keep them, their families and the doctors that care for them in your thoughts and prayers.  As well as all those who are serving in harms way around the globe.   May God Bless all our Marines and their loved ones.

Detachment Business:   

The DC float trip is 2-5 July, YES, you can drive up Friday after work and be there at parade Muster Saturday Morning and drive back Sunday.  However, there are those who will want to travel Wed/Thursday and see the wall and musuem on Friday and then drive back on Sunday.   Either way, we need to know who is going.   All of us?  That would be awesome!

Need fund raisers!  Bill Harting has lined up last year float sponsors to participate again this year.   We need to continue to seek more detachment sponsors.
